寇妞的父母離了婚，無人照料的她只得借住在親戚家中，過著寄人籬下的生活。某日，寇妞遇見了一只和她一樣孤苦無依的流浪狗，善良的寇妞收留了它，給它取名“叉燒”?？苕ね低档膶⒉鏌B(yǎng)在天臺上，每天無微不至的照顧著它，一人一狗之間結下了深厚的友誼。\n不幸的是，寇妞偷偷養(yǎng)小狗的事情被親戚發(fā)現(xiàn)了，親戚私自將叉燒送走了。沒有了叉燒的陪伴，寇妞再度陷入了抑郁之中。無法抑制對叉燒的思念之情，寇妞決定離家出走，踏上了尋找叉燒的旅途。途中，寇妞結識了賣花的八戒，兩人成為了好友，寇妞也不再感到孤單了。只是，寇妞隱隱的擔心著，擔心著叉燒會忘記自己。
